Official Statement to the Citizens of the Kryizon Empire from the Imperial Government Regarding the Kymer issue, 521 FC
The glory of the Empire will span the entire world, this is known to us by the Oracles, who tell us the will of the Gods. It is our destiny to civilise the savage peoples outside our lands and create for them a better way of life. One with the Kysar as their leader and the Kryizon culture and customs in their everyday life.
Steps to achieve this goal were taken in early 495 FC, when Kysar Dyalos Haydryonus set forth plans to construct a colony on the Kymer coast. By 499 FC the first brave colonists had moved into this dangerous and untamed wilderness. Full of thick forests, with many dangerous creatures lurking under its canopy.
The settlement of Kymeroi was established and began to bustle under Kryizon control. However, isolated and besieged by terrible creatures and monsters from beyond its walls, its control had become difficult.
Terrible mysterious forces control that part of the world and many colonists began to fall victim to it, including the traitorous General Thevenyn Houdretus.
Houdretus sort out the mysterious forces and used it to trick his garrison into rebelling against the Empire. Immediately upon news of this treachery, an expeditionary force of 500 men were dispatched to subdue Houdretus and stop this mysterious wizardry.
The journey took several months, but upon reaching Kymeroi the men discovered Houdretus had used his cunningness and wizardry to fool the townspeople into attacking the soldiers. With the help of the town’s folk and mythical creatures from within the forest, Houdretus defeat our brave soldiers.
With no word from the expeditionary force, a half Legion was sent the following Spring, they however lost nearly half of their men in a landslide while crossing through a narrow mountain pass. However, the dedicated warriors that they were, they pressed on, and when they arrived at the Kymeroi they immediately began a siege.
The siege held for almost a year, however Kymeroi had been well constructed. Built by Kryizons finest builders it proved too strong to impregnate.
An entire legion joined them in the summer of 520 FC, but with threats looming on our Western frontiers, the Kysar could no longer risk an entire Legion and a half being so far from home. By summers end the siege had ended and the soldiers began the arduous march home.
Leaders in Kymeroi sent letters to Kryizon requesting the Kysar recognise them as an independent realm. While Kysar Fydica disliked this idea, upon Kysar Jyn Haydryonus coming to power he has since decided to accept their request.
It has always been Kryizon's destiny to rule all the land and sea, the Kysar believes this more than ever. But the Kysar believes that if the Kingdom of Kymer wants to rule independently they can. For that part of the world is fraught with danger and is too far away to be of economic and strategic value to Kryizon as of now.
Kysar Fydica believes that the best approach to secure Kryizon is to expand from Kyzon City outwards, making sure we never over-project ourselves.
One day we will take back our rightful land as destined to us by the Gods, but for now, we wait.
