The Treaty of Aurcalia
-
Demiphius Surato and Camila Surato, with the blessing of Governor Aunclad, Governor Exodus, Governor Malifo, Governor Burat of the Paris Isles, in accordance with the Duchess Elsa of Eliasin Skylandka, the Senate of Myralis and all of its beloved children, under the guidance of our fallen God, seek to establish a lasting peace between the republic of Myralis and the kingdom of Caesony, and to remove the Caeson forces from Myralis, and in exchange, the Order from Caesony. To all whom it may concern, present and future, Myralian and Caeson alike, the Republic as of the 40th year following the second comet has spoken at length with the King and Queen, Elias and Adonia of Caesony as well as their first born prince, Adamas, and his constituents, of an agreement between both parties regarding removal of military and the establishment of proper borders, to protect both peoples and markets, guaranteeing a secure future for all our children, a prosperous land for all, and in the hopes of bettering regional affairs, whether political or domestic, trade or travel. On the 9th day of the 6th month, Consul Surato and his mistress, Camila, shall meet in the great city of Aurcalia, with King and Queen, Elias and Adonia, to sanction, confirm, swear to, ratify, and approve the above-mentioned agreement in person. The text to be agreed upon, word for word, is as follows,
In the name of the fallen god, once his highness, the prophet, our savior, lord, and highly respected king of Myralis, the Republic of Myralis in agreeance with Consul Surato, his senate and all the Governors, shall remove all units of the Order from Caeson territory upon the agreeance of this document and the immediate creation of secure borders between the two territories. It is to be agreed upon, as well, that the Caesons remove any and all oppressing forces within the territory of the Republic of Myralis, or the previously mentioned agreement shall be cancelled immediately and of consequence, the Legates of the Order maintain full authority to command their Centurions and all units to resume attack. The Caeson army maintains the same authority.
It is to be expected that all prisoners of war are returned to either party. This includes civilians, soldiers, and political figures. Politicians guilty of treason within the Republic shall be tried in royal court, then banished from Myralis. The Republic hopes the Kingdom of Caesony will support these felons, though we do not demand this. Myralis agrees to support Caeson civilians, paying reparations to those removed from custody, equivalent to monthly pensions of international currency, of which to be explained further into this document. The pension amount will remain in accordance with annual inflation, and is by no means to be denied or restricted to the people, nor altered in value artificially.
In the event of controversy over whom for which land pertains, among nobles, dukes, governors or any of whom it may concern, from land inhabited between the far south of Caesony to the islands to the far north of the Gulf of Claudius, disputed between nobles up to present day, of the signing of this treaty, for the sake of preserving peace and hospitality, in the name of Darius and Consul Demiphius, for the honor of King Elias of Caesony, a boundary shall be established, with all disputed land, taken into heavy consideration, a straight line, at a degree to be decided and agreed upon, between the two territories. Any Myralian or otherwise Caeson settlements located between the boundary, shall be granted their own territory, the border may be extended in either direction, north or south. It is to remain open to discussion, the possibility of purchasing territory from either party, negotiations are welcome. Lands discovered following said agreement, to the south of the Caesons, shall be discussed in royal court, with said lands natively belonging to the Caesons, though if discovered by the Republic, may be considered joint territory. This is to be discussed when necessary, and no steps are immediately required.
As borders remain tight and trade runs rampant between the Republic and the Kingdom of Caesony, an international currency is to be established between the two territories. This currency is to be used throughout all territory of Tir, including the peoples of Myralis, Caesony, Ascyia, and reluctantly, the Dyndi if they so desire. The initial worth of this currency is to be established by the royal treasury of Myralis, in accordance with the royals of Caesony, and the Duchess of Eliasin Skylandka. Currency shall be composed of bronze ingots, melted to the shape of a rounded square, of dimensions 3cm x 3cm. This currency shall be exchanged at any large city home to a governor, duke, or otherwise noble of high stature. Exchange rate is to be decided following the evaluation of the worth of the coin. In Myralian tongue, we shall call the coin Tira, though the name is of irrelevance.
All ships pertaining to the nobles of the Republic as well as the nobles of Caesoy shall retreat immediately upon the signing of this treaty, beyond their respective side of the decided borders. Ships designated for trade must also retreat, though after confirmation of ship inventory on both sides, may resume their travels. Ships that do not return and cannot be found, or are deemed as too far to return, shall be labeled absent. If to return, investigation shall immediately take place to discover their previous whereabouts and reasoning.
Any conflict or battles between the two territories shall come to an immediate halt, any and all wounded shoulders disregarding affiliation shall be taken to hospice for recovery.
Any damaged military or government properties shall be forgiven, though any civilian damages shall be compensated for and supported in reconstruction.
Any stolen properties are to be returned or compensated.
The said deed of treaty, agreement, and concord, above incorporated, having been examined and understood by Consul Demiphius and his senators, and the governors of Myralis, as well as King Elias and his mistress, we approve, commend, confirm, execute, and ratify it, and we promise to keep, observe, and fulfill all the abovesaid that is set forth therein, and every part and parcel of it.
Signed,
