Sentence Days: Episode VI - Return of the Lore (March 2021)

Throughout roughly the first century after the passing of the first comet, the Ascyians thrived in their grand nation of Ascya which covered the coastlines of the now known Myralian Peninsula. During this time, they had cast their prisoners away by boat toward the northern island beyond the Gulf of Claudius. This island was known as the "Hunting Ground of the Gods". Occasionally, elites and bloodthirsty individuals would sail to the island, armed with daggers, crossbows, and poison, armed to hunt the prisoners like prey.

Ascyian sacrifice rituals use a sort of alchemic magic to reconstruct the ashes of the sacrifice into a precious gemstone. These stones, however, are not to be confused with the gemstones found in the mines and markets, but rather are known as "soul stones", and are enhanced with magical essence unparalleled to any other source, even aetherium.

Oddly enough, Lunarius is worshipped among some groups in the Underdark, how they found out about the new god is however a mystery.
Before the Ascyians were driven out of the Myralian Peninsula by the Myralians, Ascya stretched along the coasts of the peninsula, reaching nearly as far south as present day New haven, and as north as Dragon's Crown.

It is common sense and custom for women outside the cities to be veiled in order to avoid bridal kidnappings and raiding by rival tribes. Women who go veiled in the city however are derided, considered improper for maintaining this tribal necessity in a city where such matters are uncommon and discouraged.

Many inhabitants of the cities in Sogadar lead a nomadic lifestyle still, settling within their town houses and urban villages for the winter before setting out again in the summer. These people often lead two different lives, traditions, and beliefs: one to take up within the winter months, and another to return to during the summers.
The practice of migrating during the summer and winter months is so ingrained within Sogad society that even the sedentary nobles regularly migrate according to the season.

There sits a lake in the Underdark so dangerous that only one tale of it remains. All we know is that it is surrounded by giant fungal growths, which release a deadly poison into the air. It is so potent, it even rendered a druid treating the only survivor unconscious for a short period, and they are renowned for their ability to resist them.
As a copiate within the Order of Myralis, the primary duty is to remain in the back line of a battle, primed with wagons and bags upon one's back. While having no direct leader, the copiates hold in place, stationary and silent, awaiting the call of a loud horn at the front of battle. In that moment, the copiates charge, bringing immediate materials to the Myralian soldiers. They come bringing shovels, pickaxes, additional weapons, medical supplies, and wagons by the plenty of food, brick, stone, clay, and other materials for building.

Many caves connect directly into the Underdark, but you usually cannot tell until the danger is too great.
The Kingdom of Caesony, a great kingdom to the far south of the Dwytir. For centuries, the Caesons stood independent of the Myralians as they faced constant political turmoil within their devastated kingdom. It wasn't until the dawn of the second comet, in which Caesony struck against Myralis, successfully bringing the fall of Darius. Afterward, Caesony faced great resistance as it was pushed out of Myralis, until a treaty was established, bringing the two nations to peace.

The city of Portsmouth is the largest ship producer in all of Obrexia. They also hold the Portsmouth Naval Academy, to teach sailors, officers, and captains. These people are guaranteed a place among the Obrexian Navy for as long as they are willing to serve, and come with high recommendations should they choose to serve on a private vessel.

It takes around two years from start to finish to complete a full education at Portsmouth Naval College, but that can depend greatly upon where you wish to serve. Captains must always complete the full two years, and they almost always will become an officer before taking a full role as captain. Those looking to be career officers are heavily encouraged to complete two years, but they need to at least complete three half-year terms. Your average individual will complete their training in only a year, but most will stay as long as they can to enter the officer track. Dedicated marines and other fighting types will complete their training at various forts around Obrexia and will come to the College to round out their seafaring knowledge before they are deployed onto ships.

Guardian class vessels are usually in the line of duty for up to 50 years. Portsmouth is a main station for repair for these vessels, and druids working there can help with that. Vessels not lost to damage at sea usually see a new captain at the helm every 15 years, with the crew being cycled out more often than that.

The vistas of the Sleibhte Farraige are some of the most impressive views in all of Obrexia. The top of one of those mounts is likely the position where you can see farthest out to sea.

Mock simulation is one of the greatest tools the Portsmouth Naval College uses to prepare sailors for any situation, with stations inside the college, and surrounding to get the full experience.

Gemstones are a rare commodity in Obrexia, and are rarely seen in general circulation. Many are imported, usually already set within jewelry, to perch up the neck or finger of a noble or wealthy merchant somewhere in the realm.
