Greetings Masters and Mistresses of Candarion,

My name is Phimaulos, an Umbravirian pilgrim in search of land to call my own. For a score, I have travelled the many worlds of Serverus, and have found myself at the doorstep of the mighty Candarion lands.

I belong to the clan of the Black Sun, one of the seven tribes of Umbravir, fallen by siege and destruction. Our people have taken the oath of the pilgrim, to search out for new lands and the rebuilding of our culture in new lands.

Umbravir was named after the great, screeching land grabbers. Your people call them Endermen, but we call them Umbravirian, or “Shadow Men”. Our founders, a Farmer (Yiogoris), a Cleric (Theodoris), a Warrior (Paulimystis), and a Mason (Krystos) started a small town together. New tribes showed up to join, and as time went on an Archer (Tocsitos), a Miner (Metallos), and a Fisher (Pysaras) would join the council.

That council would create great growth, expanding the town into a great city. Our numbers grew so great, that other nearby villages grew jealous. Soon, pillagers came with their banners and bows. We pushed them back as far as we could, but our numbers kept shrinking after every attack. Then the great evil came.

In the early night, vile monsters came – groaning dead, skeleton archers, giant spiders, and the hissing beasts of fire.

Then, we tore our people from the inside – finger pointing from every tribe on who wasn’t doing enough. A civil war broke out, each tribe attacking the other. It was only when few remained and only the distant relatives of those founding tribes left standing that the war ended. The eldest cleric, in their wisdom and after a journey to the Great End City, told us that the way to rebuilding comes from our start.

“Follow the way of the Umbravir” said the old Cleric, “Go forth into the world, as a pilgrim, and find new land to make your own.”

The heads of the tribes sent out their pilgrims, to find new lands, to create a new life, and for the way of the Umbravir to live on and survive.

      Hello,

My name is Paul, I’m 33 and live in the US (CST). My Minecraft username is Phimaulos.
I’ve been playing Minecraft on and off since 2014 and have experience playing (and admining) on several other servers. I’m very much interested in the world building aspect of Candarion, as well as lore building.

I’ve been a DM for D&D on several occasions with less than a dozen groups, but all of which were together for more than 2 years each. I love fleshing out worlds, in both building and organizing.

In my spare time outside of work and game I like to watch survivor with my wife, I run a side business with by best friend, and love to go camping and bush crafting. I work for a university in data analytics and statistical reporting.

Here is a small tower that I made:

As well as the village in the sky that I would build around it and eventually make a large, stone city:

Working on some 1.16 updates to the look:

Hello! Here are some of the usual questions:
        What is/are your favorite colors(s)?
What type of fantasy races are you most interested in?
Do you have a general understanding of progression in this server?
What's your favorite biome to build in?
What's your favorite type of wood in Minecraft?

I can’t vote (not yet, anyway), but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed reading your lore! I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that on the server so far—that is, really embracing the actual worldbuilding of the game itself, like you’ve done here with the different mobs. I wish you lots of luck as our higher ups decide whether to vote for you or not (but this is a great app, I have a good feeling about it), and I hope to see you on the server!

            Answer to #1:

            • IRL: My favorite color Pantone 202-C (https://www.pantone.com/color-finder/202-C)
            • Minecraft: I love the use of dark neutrals (stone bricks, stone, etc) - but I have been playing around with darker colors (basalt, blackstone, black concrete) to do a more menacing feel to it

            Answer to #2:

            • IRL I am a former football (US style) player and wrestler, plus the big shaggy beard and short height makes me very close to the Dwarf lol Plus the side business I run with my friend is making Adeni style hookahs (wood stem, clay head, metal vase), so we legit have a forge and furnace for smelting. He, however, would be more akin to a very high INT Goliath

            Answer to #3:

            • I am going to go out on a limb and say that, as lore is introduced and approved, so too does the story of the world and the characters also carry on that lore into their own story. What I liked to do as a DM, is when people introduce a part of their lore, I take notes on it and then play off it it with other people's story to make one tapestry of adventure. In one session, I had a dwarven paladin reveal that his hatred for Ogres came from an attack as a child. 2 sessions later, our elf ranger added to his lore that he became a ranger because his village was attacked. I loomed together that the ogres tribe that attacked the dwarves also attacked the elves, created a united story that eventually led to a BBEG Ogre Warlock.

            Answer to #4:

            • I love a good wooded mountain biome, but I also am quite fond taiga. I would say I am least fond of the savanna, but I just don't think I'll ever like an orange wood lol

            Answer to #5:
-This is going to sound dumb, but I base my like and dislike of wood based solely on doors. I don't really like birch wood, because of the creamy color doesn't work great with my favorite building pallet. However, I love the birch door lol If I had to pick a wood that I enjoy working with in my building pallet AND love the door: Spruce. Plus, it's fun to say. I know it is, because you just smiled while saying it 🙂

Real good application, like @itreallydobethatwaymyguy said, It's neat how you grounded your worldbuilding in Minecraft. Just know that you don't have to do that and your lore only needs to be related to Minecraft if you want it to be.

                    Again though, well done!

                    Vote 4/5.

This would usually be where I give an offer, but I said I would hold out for a while to let others get some. Can't wait to see you on the server, you will likely be a boon wherever you decide to go!

                                Background

Kaligos is a land of darkness and monsters. Founded by a Helian expat, Kaligos is a blending of Helian tradition and culture with the native population of Selk. The Six Gods are present among some former Helians, but a new form of magic has been found and intense study is underway! The Selk practice a lifestyle-religion known to outsiders as Selkine, which has a heavy emphasis on beast and nature spirits.

Kaligos is still a young realm, but I hope you'll consider joining me!

Thank you for your interest in Helios, the Dawn Lands." We are a realm who pride ourselves on vivid story telling and cohesive building. The framework of the Realm is such that stories can come from many avenues and a good story is far more important to me than building without purpose. Hopefully the brief information below, and the more detailed information on the Wiki will peak your interest and you will consider Helios in your search for a realm.

                                  Background

Helios is a land shaped by the brutality of its surroundings, and the protection of the Gods. Helians are a strong and dependable people who are tempered by horrors that would break lesser peoples, and often does. The Six Gods of Helios shape every aspect of life for Helian people. Sol the chief, Wenna the Gddess of good and light, Lorna the Goddess of dark and secrets, Alkourie the God of war and violence, Omar the God Nature and death, Zayl the God of magic and knowledge.

Helios as a nation was fractured for generations, besieged on all fronts by monsters and violence. Only in the last century have they come together under one banner again. This unification has seen the lands of Helios prosper and grow as trade became safer and more resources could be shared for the common good. None of this could have been done if not for a group of monster slayers known as the Knights Valiant who are blessed by the gods to be holy warriors. If not for them the horrors of the wilds would still be endlessly ravaging the Helian populace. Even with the renewed strength of the Knight Valiant the wilds of Helios are filled with monsters and other horrors and only the strongest and most resourceful have survived through it all.

Expansion looms on the horizon as the Great Houses of Helios finally become fully connected. What form that expansion will come in is unknown, but like anything to do with the warrior Helians it will involve a fair share of violence.

                                  Your Place in it All

I have always felt that Helios is a framework to tell stories. The grim dark of the land can feed uplifting and terrifying tales. Helios is shaped by it's people, and as such character driven storytelling is something that is paramount. While the general application process has you create a character to plop into a realm, Helios implores you to make a native Helian to explore the world with, rather than an outsider who may supremely struggle with the foreign and brutal landscape. While this isn't required it is something that could help to more easily tell stories within the realm.

Builds. As important as the story telling. The land is sprawling and there are ample opportunities to build both small and large scale projects through out the land. Helios has several counties that each sport a unique, yet unified build style and culture. You can spend time in one or perhaps branch out to many. There is no set path in Helios and the goal is to get you invested in the realm either through builds or storytelling (ideally both) Those who stay with Helios in the long term are afforded large amounts of creative control over many projects both building and story so there is a fair amount of progression to be had.

Ultimately what mark you leave on the realm is yours to decide and I, and the other Helian's will be here to help you realize that mark.
