Day 2: The plants here are strange… I haven’t been brave enough to try the red berries that Irenic found the other day, but we found some wild pigs that we captured and have hung to dry. The ship's left overs should last us for a couple weeks but I’m not sure how long we will be here before someone finds us. To say I’m optimistic about our survival is… well, optimistic.
Day 7: I found a bottle with a marking I've never seen before on it. It was on the beach when I went there to see if my fish trap had caught anything, it hadn’t. Point is, I've never seen this bottle before and am starting to wonder about the properties behind that storm, and whether or not we’ve arrived somewhere unseen to the Eek-wain eye.
Day 23: The birds here make such beautiful sounds, and the seals are starting to look quite uh… well let's just say I miss the women back home. I think I’m starting to get a good idea as to why sailors make up stories of mermaids. The people of Eek-wai are constantly on mind, in more ways than one I suppose. I wish we could have just made things work there instead of going on this perilous fucking voyage… time for dinner.
Day 46: The salty air is starting to get to me… I can’t really tell how many days we’ve been here now. My log says it's been 46 days but I’m starting to think maybe I’ve missed some. My father once told me I had to look after my family and at this point the only family I’ve got left is these two rag tag buffoons. I feel as though I’ve let him down somehow. I thought I saw a ship out on the horizon early this morning but I’m sure it was just a dream. No one is going to save us.
Day 49: I couldn’t believe my eyes, a ship, there’s a fucking ship here. These people speak our tongue but say nothing if Eek-wai only speaking of the Candarion Realms. They saw the smoke from our fire and thought the island was supposed to be free of people, which until a few months ago it was, but they thought maybe there was a forest fire here and came here to collect data. I’ve been told we must go in front of the counts and barons and such to tell them our story… Also there are some very beautiful women here and that makes me so, so happy.
